We are coming up on midterm week which marks the end of the second quarter. As you may know, we run out of classroom supplies very fast, and our teachers end up having to buy these materials for their classrooms out of their own pockets.
As a result, the SuppliED club is running a classroom donation over the course of the next few weeks. It would be most appreciated if parents send their kids to school with some of the following supplies and drop them off in the marked box outside of the main office.
Our teachers most need tissues, Clorox wipes, dry erase markers, pencils, and colored pens. Thanks for making a difference in our community.

The Girls Basketball program is continuing its January winning streak, with both Varsity and JV teams turning in strong performances against two Middlesex League foes. The Varsity team picked up two important wins, defeating Lexington 44-29 on January 9 on the road and earning a 52-35 victory over Wilmington at home on January 13. Against Lexington, senior captain Leah Attridge had a strong night with 2/3 shooting, 2 rebounds and feisty defense as did sophomore Eva Sen with vital energy minutes off the bench - including 2 steals, 1 block and 1 assist. Against Wilmington - shout-out goes to sophomore point guard Eva Berlis who made a strong impact with 3 rebounds and 3 assists, while also scoring her first varsity points.
The JV team also had a great week, opening with a dominant 64–18 win over Lexington, followed by a 41–27 victory against Wilmington. In the Lexington game, CharliAnna Ferrier posted a strong performance with 8 points and 12 rebounds, while Lauren Marcos added 6 points and made her presence felt with strong defensive play. Against Wilmington, the team was led by Elektra Karatzas and Katie Fussa, who each scored 10 points.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the teams as the winning streak continues - including Belmont Basketball Night tonight, Friday January 16, with JV playing at 5p @ Chenery and Varsity tips off at 7:15 PM in the BHS Field House.

Boys Swim & Dive had another successful week of racing. Our record has improved to 5-1. We had an electric meet against Melrose/Stoneham. We swam “off events” and still came out with a 63-95 victory. The highlight of the meet was Sophomore Arman Stepanian, giving Belmont the win in the 200 Freestyle Relay. He was matched up against Stone/Rose’s best swimmer, it came down to the last stroke into the wall. Tonight we are racing Brookline, and hope to pull out another win. This meet will be dedicated to Morgan’s Message, please stop by to see some fast swimming! |
