Belmont High School

From the Principal's Desk

Friday, January 24th, 2025

Dear BHS Students and Families,

This has been a busy week with midterms, and today we ended the week with our annual community morning dedicated to course selection for next year. Students had the opportunity to talk with peers to get advice and insight into classes for next year. The following resources were shared with students in grades 9-11 as they start to think about what courses they plan to take in September:

  • course selection website

  • time management calculator

The next steps in the course selection process take place in mid-February. There will be a parent information session on Wednesday February 12 at 7pm (link to follow).

Reminder that Semester 2 begins on this Monday January 27th, 2025. Schedules will be updated in your Plusportals prior to the start of the semester.

Volunteer Opportunity

We are looking for students to come to the Beech Street Center on Wednesday afternoons (2pm-4pm window) to help answer basic tech questions. We have seniors coming in every week with tech questions that are very basic to those who are used to using smartphones and tablets, and can range from ‘how do I download an app?’ to ‘I can’t access my voicemail.’ We would be looking for patient students who can answer basic questions offering encouragement to seniors. Email Aimme LeBrun at alebrun@belmont-ma.gov for more information.
