From the Principal's Desk

Dear BHS Students and Families,

Over the past few months, there has been a troubling trend of racist, sexist, and other harmful memes and messages sent by students in direct messages and group chats. In most cases, the content that is being sent originates from social media. I would like to take a moment to remind everyone that sending these hateful messages is not in line with our BHS core values of kindness and equity. Normalizing the sending of racist, misogynistic, or violent content creates an environment where individuals and groups do not feel safe. The person sending unacceptable content is always responsible for what is sent, no matter where it first originated. This is not acceptable behavior, and the administration always takes this issue very seriously when it is brought to our attention. I hope and expect that everyone will play a role in calling out or reporting incidents of this kind. The bias incident reporting form is available HERE

Arriving to School

When students arrive to the building for the first time after 8am, they are required to type in their lunch pin at the main office to mark their arrival. If you do not know your lunch pin you can find that information under your demographics tab in Plusportals. On inclement weather days there may be slight delays, so please plan accordingly.

Boys Cross Country

The Boys Cross Country team lost to Lexington on Tuesday, ending their regular season at 3-3.  Despite the challenging course, many runners achieved personal best times.  Our focus now shifts to next Monday when the team will travel to Woburn to compete at the ML-12 Championship Meet.

Football

Despite the final score on Friday night, there were plenty of positives to build on. The effort, energy, and determination from our guys continue to shine every week!

  • Junior running back Lincoln Correia ran hard all night and showed great toughness after contact.

  • Senior wide receiver Andre Chavushian came up big with multiple clutch catches that kept our offense moving.

  • Senior captain Casey Regan continues to set the tone with his leadership and all-around play — he’s been outstanding week after week.

  • Freshman Ronan Kelleher stepped in and made an impact, giving the Marauders an extra spark. The future looks bright!

The players continue to work hard every day, staying locked in and hungry to improve. The energy around this group is strong, and we’re excited to get back on the field as we prepare for Reading this week.

Boys Soccer

Belmont Boys Soccer continues to fight hard down the stretch! Varsity faced two of the top teams in the Middlesex League this week, showing determination and grit in both matches. With a big home showdown against Winchester on Monday and a trip to Newton North on Wednesday, there’s still everything to play for. Jake DiOrio remains red-hot in front of goal, scoring six times in his last five matches. The JV and Freshmen teams also put in strong performances in tight, competitive games—proving just how close they are to breaking through against the league’s best.

Good luck to all of the runners on Monday!

Girls Volleyball

.Girls Varsity volleyball wrapped up their regular season this week finishing at 11-9 and 25th in the MIAA D1 rankings. The Freshman team finished with the best record of the teams for Coach Haffers inaugural season as a volleyball coach. Recording only a handful of losses this year we are excited to see how these student athletes continue to develop in the coming years. Our JV team had a rocky start to the season but every game they showed improvement and player development and we are so proud of how far they have come since the beginning of the season.
