Arriving to School

When students arrive to the building for the first time after 8am, they are required to type in their lunch pin at the main office to mark their arrival. If you do not know your lunch pin you can find that information under your demographics tab in Plusportals. On inclement weather days there may be slight delays, so please plan accordingly.

Belmont Farmer's Market

Food assistance: Stretch your food budget!

Resources that SNAP recipients can use if SNAP is shut down in November (or even if it’s not!).

Winter farmers’ markets that accept SNAP and HIP (the Healthy Incentives Program).

We prepared them for our shoppers at the Belmont Farmers’ Market, so they include resources in and outside of Belmont. Many of the ones in other communities serve anyone who needs assistance (though some are limited to a town’s residents).

We may update the documents through the fall and winter. You can get the latest copies on the BFM homepage: BelmontFarmersMarket.org

Thursday, Oct. 30, is the last day of the Belmont Farmers’ Market. We reopen in June, 2026, and information about our food assistance program is on our website: BelmontFarmersMarket.org/food-assistance

Flyer can be found here: Belmont Food Assistance

PTSO

Student Club Grants

Student Leaders: The PTSO is sponsoring BHS Student Club Grants again this year! Please see the form for application guidelines. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, December 5, at 5pm. The PTSO will be in touch directly with club leaders regarding next steps once applications have been submitted. View the application here: https://forms.gle/F9ix7DPGKZsgKf1g7

This program is volunteer-run and funded by the BHS PTSO. Many thanks for the parent donations that make this and other PTSO programs possible to support students. Please consider donating to our annual appeal to help us continue to offer our programming.

Lights Brigade

Hello, Belmont Parents! Next Monday (11/3) at 3:30pm there will be a Lights Brigade at the intersection of Goden and Concord, right by the Belmont Middle and High School sign. Volunteers be giving out bike lights to folks on bikes that don't already have lights until we run out, so if your child rides to BMHS and doesn't have lights, this is a good opportunity!

There will also be some swag from our friends at MassBike, a small collection of free helmets courtesy of the Belmont Police Department, stickers, and more (which we are happy to give out to folks who don't have a bike or already have lights). Hope to see you there!

Cheer

Our varsity cheer team is heading to the Middlesex League Championship at Woburn High school on Monday, November 3rd at 6:30 PM! The team has been putting in countless hours perfecting their routine, sharpening stunts, and fine-tuning every motion to bring their best performance to the mat.

Football

Although we came up short in a tough battle against Reading, our boys showed tremendous heart and resilience until the very end. As our season nears its close, we still have several competitive games ahead and, of course, our Thanksgiving matchup to look forward to. The team remains locked in and motivated to finish the season strong.

Our JV team also dropped a close game against Reading, bringing their record to 4–3. Despite the loss, our younger players—especially the freshmen—continue to make great strides and gain valuable experience each week.

This week, our focus shifts to a big matchup against Winchester. The energy at practice has been strong, and the players are eager to get back on the field and compete.

Girls Volleyball

Girls Swim and Diving

Once again, congratulations to our 2 time league champions. We had a successful last chance Dive meet on Saturday, congratulations to Freshman Maggie Han and Sophomores Cece Held, Grace Fagan for qualifying for States. We officially have 16 athletes competing in the post season which is the largest team we’ve had in 8 or more years. Belmont will be competing at the Girls North Sectional Swim and Dive meet on Sunday 11/2 at MIT. Wish them good luck!

Girls Cross Country

Girls cross country wrapped up the season for most team members on Monday 10/27 at the Middlesex League Championship. We finished 4th in the freshman race, 4th in the JV race, and 5th place in the varsity race (only 3 points out of 4th place). Zoey Jones earned a medal in the freshman race, finishing 10th overall. In the JV race, Siri Iagnemma, Vera Harrell, Alyssa Kresse, Mina Berkman, and Kathryn Kresse finished as a pack and took 14th-18th places. Finally, Kira van Kelsted and Reece Bundy led the way finishing in 13th and 21st places respectively in the varsity race with the pack of teammates not finishing far behind. Our varsity athletes look forward to a few days of rest and recuperation before we move onto state level competition on November 9th at the MIAA Division 1 Championships in Wrentham, MA.

Field Hockey

Varsity field hockey ended the regular season 15-3 with 1-0 wins over both Lexington and Arlington last week.  The team is ranked 6th in the Division 1 State Tournament.  They’ll play the first round against #27 Newton North at Harris Field on Friday, October 31 at 3:45.

JVA finished the season 8-6-2.  The team made a lot of growth this fall and left it all out on the field at our last home game against Arlington where we won 1-0.  They improved in the areas of positioning, passing, marking defensively, and getting quick shots off.  The players are proud of the season and look forward to next fall.

JVB ended the season undefeated with a record of 12-0-1.  The team ended with an exciting home rematch at Harris against Concord-Carlisle who they had tied earlier in the year.  The team excelled at passing the ball upfield, communicating with each other, and capitalization on offensive corners.  The future is bright for Belmont field hockey.
