From the Principal's Desk

Friday, November 14th, 2025

Dear BHS Students and Families,

A reminder that next Thursday is a delayed start for students. Classes will start at 10:30. Students are welcome to come to school at the usual time if they would like to study in the library area. Buses will run at the usual time, dropping students at the school before 8:00am, and breakfast will be available from 7:30 as always. The middle school will start at the regular time. You can see the high school schedule for the day below.

Cultural Exposition Day 11/26/25

Our 4th annual Cultural Exposition Day will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov 26, 2025 - less than two weeks away!  This is always a fun and meaningful day for us.  Part of the day includes cultural performances in our Black Box Theater.  We are looking for more people who would like to perform, either solo or in a group.  The 3-5 minute performance could be dance, song, dramatic reading, spoken word - anything that expresses your culture.  If you are interested or have questions, please email Ms. Gavin at egavin@belmontschools.net.  This is a great way to earn community service hours as well!  Please remember that all tables handing out food must have an ingredient list posted.  If the list is not posted, food will be removed.

Visual & Performing Arts

BELMONT HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY Presents

AN ABSOLUTE TURKEY

The PAC Fall Play is a French farce written by Georges Feydeau in the 1890s. This fast-paced, humorous show skewers the morals of upper class society as a bunch of aristocrats attempt to have extramarital affairs (or catch their spouses having an affair). When everyone accidentally ends up in the same hotel room on the same night, mistaken identities, interference from hotel guests and staff and wacky hi-jinks lead to disaster for some and a happy ending for others. This production depicts  sexual situations - played for laughs, but with some "adult humor" in the mix.

Advance Ticket Purchase encouraged: Ticket sales and more info at bhs-pac.org

Homecoming

Homecoming

Dear Junior and Senior parents, This is a reminder that tickets for homecoming are on sale until next Wednesday, 11/19 during all lunch periods, and Tickets are $15 and you will also need to sign a consent form given to your student. Homecoming will take place on Friday, November 21st from 7:00-9:30 PM and students will enter through the Middle School Side.

Classroom Donations

URGENT - WE NEED YOUR HELP

We have just completed the first quarter of school and our teachers have already run out of many necessary materials for their classrooms. As a result, the SuppliED club is running a classroom donation over the course of the next few weeks. It would be most appreciated if parents send their kids to school with some of the following supplies and drop them off in the marked box outside of the main office. We have taken a survey, and our teachers most need tissues, clorox wipes, dry erase markers, pencils, and colored pens. Thanks for making a difference in our community.

For more information visit belmontskiteam.com or the Ski Team Facebook Event Page.

Football

While our record may not show it, this group of young men has given us everything they have this season. They showed up, trusted the process, competed in every game, and fought until the final whistle. As coaches, we are incredibly proud of their effort, commitment, and growth. A 0–9 record is never easy, but their resilience has never wavered. With one game left on Thanksgiving Day one of the longest and most historic rivalries in the state our players are more excited and motivated than ever. This is what high school football is all about. The record is left at the door, and pride, tradition, and passion take the field. Let’s pack the stands, bring the energy, and finish the season together the right way and BEAT Watertown on Thanksgiving Day

Boys Cross Country

The Boys Cross Country squad advanced to the MIAA XC Meet of Champions for the second consecutive year, despite having lost 4 of last year’s top 5 runners to graduation.  Sophomores Noah Geiger and Will Olmsted led the way, placing 10th and 17th respectively in the Division 1B race this past Saturday.  Freshman Ishaan Kanagaraj, Senior Captain Henry Heldwein, and Junior Elias Campisano also scored for the Marauders, with Senior Captain Isaac Weng and Sophomore Lucas Schuster rounding out the varsity roster.  The result was a true team effort where every place mattered, as Belmont narrowly edged out Westford Academy by 2 points for the 7th and final qualifying position.  The team travels to Devens, MA on Saturday, November 15th for the championship meet to cap off a successful fall season.

Girls Cross Country

Girls cross country competed at the MIAA Division 1 championships at the Wrentham Developmental Center on Saturday November 7th. Senior Kira Van Kelsted led the charge with a 17th place finish, earning her a spot at the MIAA Meet of Champions this coming weekend in Devens, MA. The team finished 10th overall in division 1B, only 3 points shy of 9th place. This represents the team’s highest placement in years. Congratulations to the runners who helped secure a strong team finish: Kira, Reece Bundy, Lila Son, Daphne Lee, Ruth Siegert, Riley Dill, and Brynn Franklin. Good luck to Kira this coming weekend when she races against the best in Division 1!

Field Hockey

The Varsity Field Hockey team ended the 2025 season in the Elite 8 round of the Division 1 state tournament with a 2-3 loss against Wellesley High School.  While the girls battled, they had difficulty producing offense.  Mackenzie Clarke ended her career with 95 goals and 75 assists (a total of 169 points) which is a new school record.  The team will miss the 4 seniors (Mackenzie Clarke, Niamh Lesnik, Caroline French, and Cate Killeen).
