Belmont High School

From the Principal's Desk

Friday, March 21st, 2025

Dear BHS Students and Families,

Next Tuesday and Wednesday, 10th grade students will be taking MCAS for English language arts. Although passing MCAS is no longer a graduation requirement following November’s ballot initiative, taking the test is required for all 10th grade students, and scores are used to determine eligibility for state scholarships. There will be a late start on Tuesday and Wednesday for students in grades 9, 11, and 12. Please see the schedule below for details. Students who are not taking MCAS are welcome to be in school from 7:00am as usual for breakfast and to study. Students in the building but not taking MCAS can use the first and second floors only prior to the end of lunch.
