Dear BHS Students and Families,
As the spring gets underway, I wanted to highlight some of the wonderful happenings here at BHS in the past weeks. Many of our students have been engaging in new seasons of athletics with the spring season seeing the most registrations to date. Additionally, performing arts ensembles have been in full swing, from music performances and art exhibitions, to the amazing performance of the spring musical Urinetown a few weeks ago. Last night the Class of 2026 hosted a talent show where students across all grades had the opportunity to showcase their variety of skills in front of classmates and friends. It is truly a remarkable community to be a part of and we are looking forward to all of the wonderful things that await us in the final months of the school year!
Mr. O’Brien
Assistant Principal

PSAT For Sophomores
Give your Sophomore student a PSAT practice run with Revolution Prep. These exams mirror the official test format, timing, and tools—like the on-screen graphing calculator, digital notes, and answer elimination.
Why This Matters
After the exam, you’ll meet with a Revolution Prep testing expert for a 30-minute score review. This is where families unlock their student’s testing strategy—which test fits best, when to take it, and whether a class or tutoring is the strongest next step.

SOFTBALL: The Belmont Varsity and JV softball teams were thrilled to get outside this week. With a scrimmage at home Friday 3/27 v. Cambridge at 4:15, then our regular season home opener on Monday March 30, at 4:30. Come down to Clay Pit Field and cheer us on!
GIRLS RUGBY: The Belmont Girls Rugby Team are kicking off their preseason preparation with an away trip to Southington High School in C.T. on Friday 3/27 for the second year in a row. Playing both a Varsity and JV match, these matches present a great opportunity for players to test our young line up and direct our preparation for the regular season ahead!
GIRLS OUTDOOR TRACK: You may have noticed blurred colors, sonic booms and outstanding kinetic energy in and around the Oval of Greatness commonly known as the Belmont Track. Indeed, this was not a break in the time-space continuum, but rather Belmont’s own warming up for the season ahead. And yikes, if this is just them warming up…can you imagine the absolute HEAT that will be unleashed in the weeks ahead?!
BOYS RUGBY: Boys rugby is off to a strong start this spring with 80+ student athletes competing on our 3 sides in the program. The 1st (Varsity) and 2nd (JV) teams hosted Ridgefield HS from CT last Saturday and won both scrimmages with scores of 29-0 and 21-0 showing some promising early signs. Tomorrow the 1st and 2nd teams travel to Fairfield University to compete in the Premier and Varsity Divisions of the Fairfield Jesuit Classic Tournament. On Monday our C-Squad (Development Team) kicks off their season on the road at St. John’s Prep. It’s been a fun start and the team is working hard, making connections and looking forward to days and weeks ahead.
BOYS LACROSSE: The boys program experienced tremendous growth in numbers this year, surging to 50 players, and is super proud to be supporting three teams: a varsity team and two sub varsity teams, Maroon and White. The season has gotten off to a very enthusiastic start and games for both Varsity and Maroon begin on Tuesday, March 31st, and White’s season begins on Saturday April 4th.
GIRLS LACROSSE: This Week the girls wrap up the preseason with a scrimmage on Saturday 3/28 against the defending state champions, Concord-Carlisle at 12pm on Harris Field. Looking ahead to opening the season on Tuesday 3/31 at Harris against non-league opponent Weston High School at 6pm, and hosting ML rival Melrose on Thursday 4/2 at 6:45pm at Harris Field. The team has a mix of returning players and a number of fresh faces as they look to qualify for the D1 tournament for the 4th consecutive year.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL: This week, the boys volleyball team faced off against Cambridge Rindge and Latin school in a scrimmage before the official season opener. Although not ultimately victorious, the varsity team has not lost any of its edge from last year. Friday will be the varsity team’s first official match against Catholic Memorial at 4:00 in the Belmont field house. JV will have to wait until March 31st to join them when we play Medford on the road. Belmont is looking forward to its most successful boys volleyball season yet!
