The Town of Belmont is seeking interested student artists to participate in a contest to design the logo to be used by the Town for their new Comprehensive Plan called Belmont 2050: Vision for a Thriving Future. This is a great opportunity for you to get your creative work some exciting exposure as a logo that will be used on the plan document itself plus banners, websites, newsletters, and more while the Plan process goes forward. There is more information about what a Comprehensive Plan is and guidelines for the design can be found on this website:
https://www.belmont-ma.gov/2061/Logo-Design-Contest
We have a deadline of two (2) weeks from March 7th, 2025 to receive initial submissions. We will be selecting three finalists for our Plan Committee to vote on. This is a great opportunity to contribute your talents to Belmont’s comprehensive plan. If you have any questions, you can direct them to Christopher Ryan at cryan@belmont-ma.gov. We look forward to seeing your work!

Belmont Office of Planning and Building
This is a very busy month for our Performing Arts Department. I hope that you all have a chance to catch the BHS Musical, Rock of Ages next week, March 13-15. You can reserve tickets for the shows here: https://belmontpac.booktix.com/
Another fantastic event will be coming up the following week - Jazz Night at BMHS. This concert features the CUE, BMS and BHS Jazz Ensembles. Each year we bring in a guest artist to work with our jazz students in rehearsals and then perform as a featured soloist on this concert. We are fortunate to have the support of Parents of Music Students (POMS) and local sponsors Belmont Books and Anne Mahon Real Estate to make this possible.
We are very excited to have Nate Jones joining us this year! Many of you may remember Nate as a 2020 graduate of Belmont High School. After graduating from BHS, Nate attended the Juilliard School for jazz performance, and has quickly become one of the most sought-after jazz trombonists in New York City. He is a rising star on the national jazz scene not only for his level of performance, but for being a wonderful collaborator and just a fantastic person. I know that we feel very proud to have him out there representing our music program and our community.
Admission to Jazz Night is free, and there is no need to reserve tickets. Please consider joining us to support our CUE, BMS and BHS jazz students. It should be a really fun evening of great music.
AP EXAMS - FINAL NOTICE
The last possible date to order an AP Exam with a late fee is March 14th. If your student registered to take an AP Exam in May, please encourage them to check their AP Classroom. If their classroom does not specifically say they are registered to take the exam, then they are not fully registered, and they need to contact either Mr. Brown (jmbrown@belmontschools.net) or Ms. King (bking@belmontschools.net) to register ASAP.
If your student registered for an exam, but does not intend to take the exam, they need to notify either Mr. Brown or Ms. King by March 14th in order to receive a partial refund. No refunds will be issued after March 14th. Collegeboard retains $40 for every unused exam.
