Dear BHS Students and Families,
Happy April vacation week! The spring vacation is another milestone in the school year and one that signals the final push as we look ahead to the conclusion of the 2025-26 school year. That being said, the last few months will be jam packed with activities, athletics, AP exams, field trips, and celebrations. So, please as you are able, find time during this coming week to rest and recharge for all that lies ahead.
In looking ahead to the conclusion of the year, I want to share the schedule for 9-11 Final Exams. The exams will take place on Wednesday June 17th (Math), Thursday June 18th (Social Studies) and Monday June 22nd (Science), with Friday June 19th being the Juneteenth holiday and therefore no school. Our last day of school for 25-26 will be on Tuesday June 23rd. This will be a half day schedule for students. Final report cards will be posted to the portal following the conclusion of the school year.
As always we appreciate your continued support of our BHS community and wish you a restful and healthy April vacation week.

Assistant Principal

Hello BHS Sophomores/ Juniors/ Seniors
Over the last few weeks staff has noticed an uptick in students parking on campus in both the high school lot and middle school lot.
There is no student parking on campus at all. We understand this is frustrating but it is something we have dealt with since the school opened a few years ago. In the event a staff member or myself asks you to move your car, please do so. It is your responsibility to be at school on time and plan ahead knowing the parking situation on the streets can be difficult.
In the event we see your vehicle in the lot, we will call up to your classroom and have you come down and move your vehicle. I remind you all that there are cameras throughout the building and exterior so we will be able to see if you moved your vehicle off campus or not. In the event this happens, the expectation is that you will move your vehicle off campus (i.e concord ave, or side streets).
Thank you for your cooperation.

Today the Belmont High School students started their morning working out on our NEW SMOOTHIE BIKES. They jumped on our two bikes and blended our yogurt and fruit smoothies which were served at breakfast. We had so much fun and the students were surprised how hard it was to pedal and blend their smoothies. Join us every Thursday morning for a delicious smoothie for breakfast and let us know if you would like to take a spin and help us Blend your best Self. |

BASEBALL: This Week the Marauder 9 went 1-1. A hard fought loss to a strong Arlington team 8-4. But against rival Watertown the bats were swinging and won 13-1 in 5 innings. John Connolly had 3 hits and Max Douglas had 2 while Casey Regan had a big 3 run homer to spark the Marauders. Craig Deane pitched well and earned the win.
SOFTBALL: This Week the Belmont varsity softball team lost to Arlington 12-0. Maddy Pennock and Gigi Mastrangelo each had one hit in the loss. The squad hopes to get back to their winning ways Friday 4/17/26 with a home game v. Wakefield. The Belmont JV softball team lost a close battle to Arlington 23-22. The Marauders fell behind early but came back to take the lead in the later innings. The team was led by the pitching of Cara Shellman and Talia Sigel. The bats came alive for Belmont led by Ana Bakalars, Eleanor Antonellis, and JJ Mutch. Adie McGuire made a huge over the shoulder catch in centerfield that saved multiple runs. The Belmont JV team looks to get their first win on Friday April 17, 4:15 at Grove Street Park vs. Wakefield.
BOYS OUTDOOR TRACK: This Week, the boys track team traveled to Burlington for a meet against Reading. Although we fell short by a score of 91–43, the team delivered a strong performance highlighted by numerous personal records and outstanding efforts across events. With the weather finally cooperating, athletes took full advantage of ideal conditions. Points were scored by Arka Anand, Greg Zugman, Hugh Goulding, Henry Heldwein, Noah Geiger, Will Olmsted, Esmael Peavey, Liam Phillips, Joaquin Hidalgo Mendoza, and Malcom Were. A special shoutout goes to Malcom Were, who won both the long jump and triple jump while setting a new school record in the triple jump at 46'3". Great work by the entire team!
GIRLS OUTDOOR TRACK: This Week,
BOYS RUGBY: The boys rugby program had a big week as we headed into the April break. Last Friday night we hosted Milton HS and while the varsity team lost, the JV team won in dominant fashion. On Monday our Developmental team hosted BC High in what is historically one of our toughest matches each season. A strong team effort resulted in a 10-10 draw and one of our best results against them in recent memory. Tonight the Varsity and JV sides travel to St. John’s Prep in Danvers for a very important conference match at 5pm.
GIRLS RUGBY: This week the Girls Rugby program headed to Lincoln-Sudbury for a rematch of the 2025 State Championship match. It was a tough battle between the two squads and ended in a 19-14 victory for the Belmont side. The coaches are proud of the whole team’s resilience and drive to maintain their lead for the final 25 minutes of the match. The JV team also faced L.S. and despite a tough start to the match, they ended victorious with a score of 33-10. Congratulations to all our players and we look forward to another full program match day at home on April 30th.
BOYS LACROSSE: The boys lacrosse season is off to a historic start, boasting three teams (varsity, maroon, and white) for the first time in its program’s history. On Thursday, April 9th, the boys program had 48 student-athletes play in a game, the most on any date in Belmont history. This week, the boys program went 3-1 overall. The varsity team went 1-1 with a gritty 11-10 win vs. Arlington, and then fell in a resilient effort to Wakefield, 8-11. The maroon team went 2-0 with a dominant win vs. Arlington and then a very strong showing vs. Concord-Carlise where they grinded out a 6-5 win. Both the Varsity and maroon team travel to Cambridge today, APril 17th, to take on the Falcons at Russel Field (varsity at 4:30pm and the junior varsity game is at 6:00pm)
Coach Michael Curran (BHS class of 2013), coaching the Belmont white team in Belmont’s first ever third-level boys game.
GIRLS LACROSSE: So far this week the girl’s teams are 4-0 with both the JV and Varsity winning both of their games over Arlington and Wakefield. The JV Girls remain undefeated at 6-0, while the varsity girls are at 5-1. We will finish the week with a game tonight against Billerica at 6pm on Harris Field. During the school vacation week the varsity girls will host Andover HS on Tuesday at 11:30am, North Andover HS on Thursday at 5pm, before travelling to Notre Dame Academy Hingham on Saturday morning.
BOYS TENNIS: The Boys Tennis team is off to a great start this season led by Captains Brady Chan, Mingfei Ye, and Kolya Radojevic. Sophomores Jack Moriarty, Miles Hendriks, and Graham Coradeschi have been strong performers so far, as well as Junior Dorsey Mitchell and freshman Henry Running. Highlights so far include a hard fought road win against rival Arlington that had 4 of the 5 matches go 3 sets. The team has a record of 5-2 going into the vacation week and will face a challenging match on the first day back against Winchester.
GIRLS TENNIS: This week, the girls tennis team faced their toughest opponents. Despite the team's losses to Westford and Lexington, the players played extremely well. Isha Appadwedula and Giselle Fond both had impressive wins in singles against Lexington. Against Woburn, the team won with a lineup that included all of the healthy seniors with Eve Whitmer and Fiona Tse teaming up in doubles and Jackie Roy scoring a win in singles. Seniors Giselle Fond and Avery Cai also contributed to the win.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL: This week was eventful for the boys volleyball team, with home games against Lexington on Tuesday and away games at Arlington on Thursday. Both teams fell against Lexington and Arlington, with the JV team pushing Arlington to the absolute limits in an electrifying best-of-three. Tomorrow, the varsity team travels to Wellesley High School, an opponent Belmont has never faced before in the volleyball program, which promises an exciting first match!
ULTIMATE FRISBEE: The Varsity and JV teams had demanding wins over Brookline at home last Thursday. Varsity won 14-6, showing ferocity while keeping composure. Shoutout to senior Ben Yoon for some outstanding catches! JV won 9-4 and had standout performances across the board and played very consistently. Both teams are going into April break off to great starts to the season! The Varsity team hopes to secure another win against Newton North on Friday. Go Cheesers!
