Pawsitive "Lunch With the Principal!"

Bear Day

A letter from Ms. Williams

Dear Families,

Spring has arrived, bringing longer days, warmer weather, and a fresh energy at school! On behalf of the Burbank staff, I want to take a moment to express our gratitude for the time and collaboration shared during parent/guardian-teacher conferences over the past three weeks. These conversations are invaluable in supporting student growth and success, and we truly appreciate your partnership.

Burbank has been a very fun place to be, particularly on our theme days. We even had an impromptu Bear Day! Looking ahead, we invite you to our Virtual PTA Community Meeting this Tuesday, March 31st at 7:00 PM with special guest Taylor Yates, Belmont Town Meeting Member. I will also host a Virtual Principal Lunch Chat on Monday, April 13th at 12:00 PM. Lastly, we’re looking forward to Burbank’s annual STEM Night, hosted by our PTA, on Friday, April 10th from 6:00–8:00 PM. We can count on STEM Night to be a wonderful evening of fun and learning for all!

April is Arab American Heritage Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Arab Americans. Families are invited to contribute to our Arab American Heritage Month bulletin board by sharing visuals such as a family photo, tradition, favorite recipe, clothing, a word or phrase in Arabic, or a short story about your culture or experiences. Contributions can be emailed to me at lwilliams@belmontschools.net or hard copies can be brought to the main office.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or just to say hello. Wishing you all a wonderful start to spring!

Warm regards,
Lisa

Important Highlights

Belmont Food Pantry Drive: March 30 – April 3

The 3rd Grade Bears Care Club is excited to host a food drive to support the Belmont Food Pantry. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to give back to the community!

The Food Pantry is currently in need of:

  • Snacks (chips, cookies, crackers, etc.)
  • Hot Drinks (hot chocolate, herbal tea)

Donations will be collected in classrooms beginning Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3. It can be a fun and meaningful experience to have your child help choose items while shopping!

The Belmont Food Pantry is a valuable community resource located at Town Hall. It is open to Belmont residents:

  • 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 8:30 - 9:30 AM
  • 4th Sunday of each month from 1:30 - 2:30 PM

Thank you for your support and generosity!

MCAS begins this week!

Our third graders will be taking the ELA MCAS on Tuesday, March 31st and Thursday, April 2nd. We are proud of all the hard work they’ve put in and know they will do their best! Please help support them by making sure they get a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast on testing days. Thank you for your partnership!

Summer Withdrawals

As the end of the school year approaches, we realize that it's a busy time of year. If your child will not be returning to Burbank this fall, we ask that you kindly notify us at your earliest convenience. If you are not leaving Belmont Public Schools, there is nothing you need to do. Please call or email with any questions or concerns.

Share your feedback! Take BPS survey today!

Belmont Public Schools invites families to complete our annual Family Communications Survey. This brief (5–10 minute) survey includes 28 questions, including 6 optional open-ended questions. Your valuable feedback will help us tailor our communications to meet your needs. Please complete the survey by Friday, April 17. We encourage one survey per child, especially if you have multiple children with different experiences. Thank you for participating.
