Dear Burbank Families,
Burbank Elementary School
Dear Burbank Families,
The beginning of October has treated us well with beautiful weather and an incredible Fall Festival! A huge thank-you to our PTA for planning our first all-school community event of the year. Students, families, and staff had an absolute blast!
If you weren’t able to join us, don’t worry, there are plenty more opportunities ahead. Our next evening event, Burbank Lights the Way, is coming up on Friday, October 24th.
In classrooms, the school year is buzzing with energy! Teachers have completed beginning-of-year assessments and held our first round of data meetings to guide instruction. With that foundation in place, students are diving into reading, writing, problem-solving, and exploring new ideas every day. Our educators are supporting each child’s growth with dedication and care, while also building positive and inclusive classroom environments, rolling out new curricula, and integrating exciting technology. We can’t wait to see all the progress our students will make and look forward to celebrating their successes with you throughout the year!
Thank you again for your partnership and for helping make our first month of school such a smooth and positive start.
Warmly,
Lisa

Special Reminder: If your student(s) arrive after 8:40 a.m., they will be marked tardy. At that time, you will need to park and sign your child(ren) in at the main office. Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth start to the day for everyone!
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we invite students, staff and families to contribute to our “Celebrating Hispanic Heritage” bulletin board. Share artwork, photos, stories, or cultural items that celebrate Hispanic heritage. Volunteering in the Burbank Library
Families support the Library by:
Supporting the Burbank PTA, which provides financial support to the Library for the purchase of new books
Volunteering to shelve and check-out books during their students’ classes (up to 2 times per half year, unless additional time becomes available)
Assisting with occasional Library shelf reading/tidying
Assisting with book processing and special projects
You can review these training slides to familiarize yourself with the process.
Volunteer Responsibilities: As a volunteer, your primary responsibilities are to shelve and help check out books. Please plan for roughly 45 minutes of time, arriving 5-10 minutes before your time to help shelve books. During the 30 minute class time, you will help students check out books. After the class has left, please allot another 5-10 minutes to help shelve any remaining books and tidy up. This is an enormous help!
Cori Check: If you would like to Volunteer in the Library this year but do not have a current CORI check on file with Ms. Boucher, our School Secretary, please see her in the Office with a Photo ID to fill out the CORI form and a Schools Confidentiality Statement at least one week prior to your time slot.
Burbank Library Volunteers: Do not sign up until you have all applicable forms filled out and on file. Sign Ups are limited to 2 slots for the first 1-2 months of school to ensure all have an opportunity.
Message from the PTA: Show Your Burbank Pride!
