Burbank Family News

October 19, 2025

Dear Burbank Families,

Buddy the Bear

Burbank has been a busy and exciting place! Classrooms are full of energy and learning, and it’s been great to see so many enrichment activities and community events already taking shape this fall.

Thanks to the support of our fabulous PTA, we had our first grade-level enrichment programs: the Word Play puppet show for our kindergarten classes and the Tanglewood Marionettes’ performance of Cinderella. Both were fabulous and much appreciated!

We also had our first Pawsitives drawing at our October All School Meeting. Two winners from each grade invited a friend and had a fun “Lunch with the Principal.” You can see pictures of our monthly winners on the Buddy bulletin board across from the front office.

Our next exciting school community event, Burbank Lights the Way, is coming up on Friday, October 24th. We’re looking forward to seeing many of you there!

As always, please never hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns or just say hello!

Warmly,
Lisa

A Few Important Highlights:

  • Message from the PTA:

Burbank Lights the Way - Our annual Burbank Lights The Way event is THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24 from 5-8pm.  We hope you will join us as the community comes together to enjoy some fall treats such as apple cider donuts, apple cider, hot chocolate, popcorn and fun craft activities including making your own luminary bags, pumpkin decorating and more!  As the sun goes down, we will all get comfortable on the playground turf area to watch an outdoor movie together - this year we will be showing Dogman.  Visit the PTA Event Page for more information along with links to sign-up to volunteer to help at the event, purchase $1 tickets for snacks, drinks and activities, and to preorder your whole pizza!

The weather forecast is looking rain-free but a little chilly, so please be sure to bring a picnic blanket and bundle up and consider bringing blankets as well to stay warm! We will also have Burbank logoed picnic blankets to purchase for only $20! Order online here or grab one at the PTA table at the event.

We will be offering preorders again of whole cheese pizzas from Nick's Place II for $15.  Please be sure to get your order in before Thursday at 5pm on the event page here..  We will only have a limited number of individual cheese slices for sale at the event and they will only be available first come, first serve.  Whole pizzas will not be sold at the event so make sure to reserve yours online this week.  All preorder pizzas must be picked up at the event by 7:15pm.

We hope to see you there and thank you to the PTA for planning and organizing this wonderful event for our Burbank families.

  • Halloween - As a reminder, we do not celebrate Halloween at school, and students should not wear costumes (Kindergarten will communicate regarding their classroom activities). We also kindly ask that you refrain from sending candy to school, as it can create distractions in the classroom. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a focused and inclusive learning environment for all our students. We truly appreciate your support!

  • Virtual Lunchtime Principal Chat - Monday, Nov. 3rd @ 12:00 PM

This is a great opportunity to hear updates, learn more about what’s happening at Burbank, and ask any questions you may have. Everyone is welcome. We hope to see you there!

  • Special Veterans Day event - Burbank will host a special Veterans Day concert for local veterans on Friday, Nov. 7th at 10:30. This annual BPS event, which lasts approximately 30 minutes, is dedicated to honoring our local veterans. Our third graders will perform, and the entire school will be in attendance, making this a truly special occasion. All third grade families are invited to join us in celebrating our veterans. Our amazing music teacher, Shannon Sinclair, is preparing the students for this meaningful performance.

If you are a veteran and have not yet received an invitation, we would be honored to have you with us. Please let us know if you or a family member can attend by emailing me at lwilliams@belomonstschools.net. We look forward to celebrating together!

  • Parent/Guardian-Teacher Conferences

Please see this letter regarding the upcoming conference schedule. We look forward to sharing your child’s progress with you soon!

Helpful Reminders

  • Please see this important letter from Burbank’s Mental Health Team. There is a request in the letter for parents/guardians to let the school know if you do not want your child to participate in specific opportunities.
