November is Indigenous Peoples’ Month, a time to honor the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. One way we are celebrating at Burbank is by creating a bulletin board to highlight the lasting impact Indigenous individuals have had on our local community, country, and the world. Families are invited to contribute photos, artwork, or other items, either as hard copies or via email to lwilliams@belmontschools.net. We will also share customs, historical facts, and highlight important Indigenous people during Morning Announcements. Our next All School Meeting on November 18th will be another opportunity for the entire school to recognize and reflect on Indigenous Peoples.
Special Veterans Day event - Burbank will host a special Veterans Day concert for local veterans this Friday, Nov. 7th at 10:30. This annual BPS event, which lasts approximately 30 minutes, is dedicated to honoring our local veterans. Our third graders will perform, and the entire school will be in attendance, making this a truly special occasion. All third grade families are invited to join us in celebrating our veterans. Our amazing music teacher, Shannon Sinclair, is preparing the students for this meaningful performance.
If you are a veteran and have not yet received an invitation, we would be honored to have you with us. Please let us know if you or a family member can attend by emailing me at lwilliams@belomonstschools.net. We look forward to celebrating together!
Parent/Guardian-Teacher Conferences
Please see this letter regarding the upcoming conference schedule. We look forward to sharing your child’s progress with you!
