Burbank Elementary School

Welcome Burbank Families!

August 27, 2025

Dear Burbank Families,

Buddy the Bear

Welcome back! I am so happy to begin another school year with you and excited for all that’s ahead. The building is refreshed and ready, our staff is eager to welcome their students, and we can’t wait for the children to bring their energy and joy back into the school.

I’m grateful to all who helped prepare Burbank for the new year. Divino Rosa and Mafran DaSilva worked tirelessly to make the building sparkle (literally), and the Facilities team added many beautiful upgrades including new flooring, carpets, freshly painted spaces, a new gymnasium floor, and a refreshed playground. A special thanks to Ktona Landscaping for generously donating their time to spread a lot of playground mulch, to our amazing PTA and parent volunteers for improving the library and staff room, and to our dedicated teachers for creating ideal learning environments for our students.

It was such a joy meeting many of our new Burbank students and families during today’s new student visit and tour. To those new to Burbank, welcome! We’re so glad you are here and part of this incredible community.

Below you’ll find key information to help your family prepare for the first days of school. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, or just to say hello. I look forward to a fantastic year together!

Warmly,
Lisa Williams

New Staff:

Please join me in welcoming Alyssa Wolf as our new Special Education Teacher. Please also welcome our new professional aides, Joe Grenato and Dana Romagna. We are delighted to welcome them to the Burbank community!

Arrival and Pickup

This slideshow outlines many important details about arrival, dismissal, and lunch.

Please be aware that instruction begins promptly at 8:40 AM each morning. Students are encouraged to arrive by 8:25 AM when outside supervision starts. Arriving at or after 8:40 AM means missing valuable instruction time. All tardy students must be signed in by a parent or guardian at the main office.

Morning drop-off is a busy time, but student safety is our top priority. Please ensure that children do not walk between cars, cross streets alone, or exit vehicles on their own. If you walk your children to school, use only the intersections with crossing guards for safe crossing. Thank you!

Breakfast and Lunch Updates

We’re pleased to announce that school breakfast and lunch will once again be available at no cost for all students throughout the 2025-2026 school year. Please see this letter from BPS Director of School Nutrition, Jacqueline Morgan for more information.

For lunch, students can choose from a daily hot option, cold options, or a vegan option available on Wednesdays and Fridays. Breakfast will be served starting at 8:25 AM. Students who want breakfast should go to the playground or blacktop area as usual, where a staff member will escort them into the building. They will be supervised in the cafeteria until 8:40 AM, when they’ll head to their classrooms.

Students attending morning BASEC can also get breakfast; BASEC staff will bring them to the cafeteria at 8:25 if desired. While snacks will still be offered during the day, please note that students who receive breakfast will not be eligible for an additional snack later.

For additional purchases, students will be charged $3.25 for a second meal or $0.75 for a second drink. If students bring lunch from home but want a school drink (milk), the cost is $0.75. Payments for these items can be made through MySchoolBucks, and students must have funds in their account to purchase extra items. BPS Food Services Website
