Children enrolled in BASEC after-school care can participate in PTA Extracurriculars, too!
Participation in these classes directly supports the PTA's mission to enhance educational experiences and resources for students and teachers at Burbank. Your involvement makes a meaningful difference! Every class helps raise important funds for our school. Contact the Burbank PTA or PTA Extracurricular Committee with any questions.
Welcome to the Lego Robotics! In this class, kids boost their creativity as they work on the new projects ranging from an airplane and airplane launchers to a model which simulates orbit around a planet, rocket avoiding asteroids and more! It’s educational, cool, and FUN! You can use your own iPad or rent one for a small fee. PRIOR CODING EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED.
A fun arts and crafts class created for our children to engage in experiences that inspire imagination, spark joy and curiosity, and promote art exploration. Our students will enjoy learning skills to complete craft projects to take home and share!
Rola Languages offers small group classes, and teaches foreign languages using the Rola Method, a progressive and repetitive form of teaching language to ensure recall. The Rola Method helps create hands-on, innovative classes for beginners up to advanced students.
Learn French vocabulary and sentence building skills, while smiling your way through oh-la-la vocabulary challenges, creative conversations, and lots of interactive games, crafts, and musical moments. Cet automne (this fall) we will focus on nos amis et nos familles (our friends and families). Instruction is adapted for a variety of levels, making this an excellent introduction for beginners as well as an opportunity for more fluent students to expand their proficiency. Classes include a weekly take-home book to help students remember what they’ve practiced in class.
Spanish is everywhere! Learn by asking everyday questions, performing skits, making crafts, and singing songs. Each term we will explore a different theme, so our skills will grow throughout the year. In the fall (otoño), we’ll talk about ourselves, our friends, and families. Lessons are adapted for a variety of levels, making this an excellent introduction for beginners and an opportunity for returning students to practice what they know. The classes for younger grades include a weekly take-home book (fee included) to help students remember what they’ve practiced in class.
Get active at the beginning of the day with a variety of sports, games and physical challenges in this fun gym class. Studies have shown that kids that engage in movement before school, are better able to focus throughout the day. This class is being taught by our very own Kelly Michaud! Kelly is a Burbank parent, group exercise instructor, soccer coach, and former high school athlete.
Have you ever wondered where a bear goes during the wintertime? Or how an owl disguises itself from predators?
Join Ms. Hardy for a fun-filled adventure of Woodland Creatures and Crafts where you will explore a different woodland animal each week and incorporate a craft activity that goes along with that animal! We look forward to seeing you soon!
Mrs. Sacca is back for another session of her extremely popular cooking class. Join her in creating fun, edible creations that the class will make and assemble together! The class will be a balance of healthy and nutritious foods…while also finding time to make some fun, sweet treats.
You’ll receive an email once you have registered. Save that email – it will have a link to your personal page that always has your latest registration status, class dates, and other helpful reminders.
If you know someone that does not have access to a computer, or needs help filling out these forms, please coordinate with someone on the PTA Extracurriculars Committee and we’ll fill out the form on their behalf.
Please note that cancellations must be made 5 days prior to the class beginning, and you will receive a refund of the class tuition, less a $25 cancellation fee.
Students will travel from their classrooms to their after-school extracurricular class with the help of Burbank aides and teachers. If your child attends BASEC, s/he will first go to BASEC, and then will be escorted to the after-school class. Students will be dismissed to a parent or guardian at a designated location after class, or will be safely returned to BASEC.
