PTA Annual Appeal Kick-Off!

We are excited to announce that The Burbank Annual Appeal has now begun, and we hope that this year, you, along with the whole Burbank community, will show strong support. The PTA estimates that an average of $200 is spent per child each school year through enrichments, teacher reimbursements and grants, community events and much, much more. Everything that is raised during this Appeal goes back to the school and to our children. If you would support the PTA at this level, that is great. If you feel that you could give a larger donation to support others, the impact would be even greater. If the timing is not right, please still consider participating in the Appeal at your level because every donation is important. Our goal is for everyone in our community to participate in this Appeal and reach our participation goal of 100%.

To make this year even more exciting, we have a growing group of parents that would like to inspire the Burbank community to give. This group would like to match the donations made by the Burbank community this year and really make an impact at our school.

Corporate Gift Matching is another way to multiply your donation. If your employer offers a company matching program, please take advantage of it. If you are not sure if it is offered, we can help you find out. Your donation is fully tax-deductible on your MA tax return, and from your Federal tax return if you itemize.

The PTA has a long-standing tradition of funding meaningful opportunities for our community. We ask for donations once a year, and with planning for in-school enrichments underway and grant requests rolling in, now is the time to make your contribution so we can continue to fund this important work. Many Burbank parents volunteer their time to organize the PTA and to implement the various programs and events, but we need the whole community to come together and provide the financial support to make all of this needed work happen!

For more information on donations or corporate matching, please visit our Support Us page.

Burbank Lights the Way Recap

We had a beautiful evening and an amazing turnout! Thank you for joining us and celebrating the arrival of fall with pumpkin decorating, luminary bags, an impressive impromptu dance party, and a movie under the stars. Burbank Lights the Way kicks off our annual PTA fundraising efforts; funding by families allows us to support the school and your students all year. We raised over $1,500 which is an amazing start, but we still have a long way to go!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who organized the Lights the Way, helped with setup, cleanup, ticket sales, food & drink tables, music, and ran activity stations. We truly could not do these events without our amazing volunteers!

An especially big 'Thank You!' to Pemberton Farms for donating the pumpkins, to Carlson Orchards for donating apple cider donuts and cider, and to Dunkin' Donuts for providing hot cocoa, and to Beacon Community Church for the popcorn machine. We are so grateful for their generosity!

Presentation & Chat with Superintendent Geiser

Please join us on Friday, November 15th at 9:00 AM in Mods Classroom #1 to meet with Dr. Jill Geiser, BPS Superintendent. We plan to have a virtual option available as well.

Superintendent Geiser is attending PTO/A meetings this fall to discuss the district's Strategic Plan 2024-2027. The development of this plan started with the steering committee last spring, who created the mission, vision, and core values with input and feedback from the community. From there, the strategic plan was developed by the Leadership Team. Presented to the School Committee on September 24, this plan acts as a guide for district improvement. At the PTO/A meeting, parents/guardians will have an opportunity to learn and ask questions about the goals of the district.
