Breakfast at Butler
Did you know Butler offers breakfast every day? Breakfast is available for Butler students from 8:10-8:25am. Like lunches, breakfast is free for the 24-25 school year. Families interested in having their chil(ren) receive a school breakfast should go to the Sycamore Street entrance where a staff member will greet them. Students will go to the kitchen to get a breakfast (muffin, cereal, or bagel with juice, and fruit) and will be supervised in the cafeteria by a Butler staff member until 8:25 when they will be brought outside where staff supervision will continue. Students who attend morning BEDP can also get a school breakfast and will be brought back to their BEDP location until the start of the school day. Snacks will still be offered for students during the day, but it is important to note that students who receive a breakfast will be charged if they also get a “snack” later in the day.
Flip Flop Days
Parent-teacher conferences begin this week with Wednesday dismissal at 11:40am. Since most early release days are scheduled on Wednesdays, the elementary schools have created a flip flop schedule where the schedule is flipped with another day of the week. For example, on March 13 (Wed.), we will follow a Tuesday schedule and on March 12 (Tues.), we will follow a Wednesday schedule. This schedule ensures that students with special subject classes on Wednesday afternoons do not miss a large number of classes over the course of the year. Click here to see the flip flop schedule for the school year.

Dogs on School Property
As many of you know, dogs are not allowed on school property. We appreciate your adherence to this rule when dropping your child(ren) off in the morning or picking them up in the afternoon. Unfortunately, there has been an increase in dog waste on one of our fields. Principal Babson has delivered this letter to Butler neighbors and has spoken to the Animal Control Officer, Suzanne Trasavage. If you see anyone with a dog on school property, please contact Suzanne at 617-993-2724. We appreciate your support in keeping our school grounds are clean and safe for children to use.
