Help! Special Request for the Lost and Found!

We have officially reached chaos level status at the Butler Lost and Found!  We have received a special request for some volunteers to help sort, find owners, pull racks outside at pickup, and eventually donate unclaimed items.  Any interest in taming the pile?  Please reach out to us at butlerpta@gmail.com!

Volunteer For the PTA for the 2025-2026 School Year

We have many open coordinator and board positions with the Butler PTA. Check out a list of the descriptions (and commitment level) here.

We are especially in need of:

  • PTA Vice Presidents: The PTA's Vice Presidents support the two co-presidents for a one-year term and are expected to move into the co-president role the following year. A full description of the VP and president are listed in our bylaws. We would love to have you on our team.  Please contact us at butlerpta@gmail.com if you're interested or want to learn more.

  • Bookkeeper: We are looking for a treasurer for the remainder of the year, who can shadow our current Treasurer with deposits, payments, and account reconciliation. The hope is this individual will learn this year and next and move into the Treasurer role in the future. While a background in accounting is helpful, it is not required.

  • Nominating Committee Chair: The Nominating Committee spearheads the search for filling vacant PTA positions. This coordinator works with the PTA presidents to identify who will remain in their positions the following year and which positions will become vacant. This individual or small group solicits Butler community members to fill these vacant positions.

Have questions? Send an email to butlerpta@gmail.com and we’ll do our best to help.

Library Volunteer - (during school)

  • Come volunteer in the library during your child’s/children’s library time.

  • Our Library Aide Ms. Joanne is preferably looking for parents who can commit to multiple times throughout the year.

  • If you missed orientation, you can still volunteer by:

    • Reading through the Library Training Slides

    • Making sure your CORI and confidentiality paperwork is submitted and up-to-date

Enrichment Update

We are working on several more field trips for our students.

  • Our 3rd graders will visit the MIT Edgerton Museum the first week of May, and they are planning for an aquarium visit at the end of May!

  • Our 2nd graders will visit the Franklin Park Zoo in June.

  • Our 1st graders will have an in school visit from Professor Bugman to learn more about insects!

  • Our Kindergartners will have a visit from Animal Adventures in June as well.

Stay tuned for more info from your child’s teachers! Keep an eye on backpacks for permission slips!

Our PTA funds the majority of these programs, and we will be asking for donations of $5-$10 from the 2nd and 3rd graders to assist in paying for the bus transportation.

Thank you for contributing! (Haven't yet? Use the QR code below to donate.)
