Welcome to the penultimate week of school! Only one more to go.

A massive note of gratitude to the coordinators of the 5th grade party. It sounds like everyone had a great time and we even heard some students didn’t want to leave. We’re so glad everyone had fun. Thank you to all of the volunteers - especially Sara Cook - who helped make it happen.

Another note of thanks to Portia Thompson. Portia and her team of volunteers have held monthly appreciation events throughout the year. She has coordinated all of it, and we are so grateful for her work and dedication.

We have a few more things to wrap up the year, and then it’s time for some summer fun! Thank you so much for all of your support this year.

Ms. O’Brien shared the following in a newsletter on May 31st:

The Grade 6 Moving On Ceremony will be Friday, June 14, 2024 from 10:15am to 10:45am in the Chenery Auditorium. Please limit two guests per student. The ceremony will be followed by an outdoor reception with light refreshments courtesy of the PTO. Grade 6 students may leave campus with their parents at the conclusion of the ceremony/reception. There will be school staff/adults outside to supervise if students will be riding the bus at 11am.

Both the 5th and 6th grades will have a field day on Thursday, June 13th. The teachers have been working with school administration to ensure that the students will have a fun, safe day with the opportunity to make lots of memories.

We know we haven’t closed the book on this year yet, but we’re already planning for next year. The Chenery PTO is a fully volunteer-run organization, and we’d love for you to be involved. As the school expands with another grade, we’re also looking to expand our volunteer team. Check out our interest form and let us know where you’d like to help out. Putting your name down doesn’t mean you’re signed up, it’s just to let us know you’re interested. We’re happy to answer any questions - email us at chenerypto@gmail.com.

Come help in the Chenery cafeteria as a Community Lunch Ambassador. In this role, current caregivers of CUE students can sign up for a shift to help in the cafeteria. Responsibilities include reminding students to clean up, supporting the student compost champions, helping to dismiss students to recess in a timely manner, and wiping down tables.
