Coffee with the Principal
Fri Jan 9 / 9.15-9.45AM in person at CUE
People, it's cold outside - come and warm yourselves up with a coffee and community chat at this month’s Coffee with the Principal at CUE this Friday Jan 9, 9.15-9.45am.
It’s a great way to feel connected to what’s going on at CUE and hear what’s on people’s minds.
If you’re driving, please use on-street parking - sign in at the Front Office (Washington St entrance), head straight down the corridor, take the doors on your left just before the Parking Lot exit to find us in the Large Community Room (LCR).
The next one will be in March.
To catch up on December’s session, scroll the slides HERE.

PTO After School Enrichment |
Spring session activities coming next! |
We’re working out the calendar for our final 3 meetings of the year - watch out for January’s date coming soon! |
Coffee with the Principal |
Join each month (just not February, we're hitting 'pause'): some in person, some virtual. |
We're working out details and need more CUE-power to bring this to life - Can you help coordinate the production/distribution? |
Want to help with any of these events? Ooh, that’s music to our ears! |
Can you believe the next school year is already on the horizon?!
It just dawned on us too! And it means that we (the PTO Board) also need to spread word that some of our superstar Board Members will be moving on, sniff.
We can’t keep doing all the good stuff at CUE without people to help out.
If you’ve enjoyed feeling connected to CUE this year through our PTO events, communications, or simply knowing that the PTO is helping CUE staff and students, we’d love for you to consider getting more involved.
There’ll be several PTO Board positions opening up for the upcoming school year, e.g. Co-President (ideally the parent/caregiver of a rising 4th or 5th Grader)
We’ll share more details on these open positions soon, but for now please just get those volunteer instincts stirred up - and maybe come to the next PTO Community Meeting to see if this whole PTO Board thing is for you?
The current Board really is a great group of parents who just want to make a difference for CUE and our children. So while you could label it ‘work’, it actually involves the chance to get to know a great mini community, get plugged into CUE, and have some fun along the way :)

Fiorella’s December Fundraiser
That was a seriously cold December night - well done to all those with hearty appetites who ordered Fiorella’s and did some good for the PTO :) |
Book Fair & Book Swap Night
Thanks to CUE Librarian Ms. Sorensen and all you book buyers for making the Book Fair such a roaring success!
Echoing Ms. S’s update, you smashed expectations and helped raise $6,523 in Scholastic credit to buy book supplies for the library. That's amazing!
AND it was great to see some of you for cozy hot cocoa, book chat and book browsing at the Book Swap Night.

December's Virtual Coffee with the Principal
We had updates from CUE Principal Dr. Smith about fun things happening at CUE, like the Vocabulary Parade and Cooperation Assemblies, some healthy competition collecting generous donations for the Belmont Food Pantry, and the new cart and equipment that’s now brightening recess thanks to your PTO donations!
In case you missed it, here are the slides
Join the next in person session THIS FRIDAY:
Fri Jan 9, 9.15-9.45am at CUE
