90s Musical Bingo - Sign Up!
It’s TOMORROW!!
But there’s still time to sign up (and to grab your best/worst 90s outfits) - 90s Bingo Night will be a fun night for the full family!
Tuesday Nov 4 // 6.15-7.45pm in the CUE Cafeteria
Book your family/group's slot in advance HERE.
Families or groups should sign up as a team for ONE bingo card. If we have extra cards at the event, we are happy to give them out.
Children need to attend with a supervising adult (it’s not a drop-off event).
Entry is FREE!
But everyone is encouraged to buy raffle tickets to help fund the event and PTO activities - and give yourself the chance to win some generous prizes from local Belmont businesses, like Linda’s Doughnuts, Wheelworks, Comella’s, Bakehaus, Starbucks, Champions and Sophia’s Bakery.
How does Musical Bingo work, you say??
Think regular Bingo, but BETTER! Instead of calling numbers, we're playing songs!
Each group gets one bingo card that's filled with song titles and artists instead of numbers.
DJ Carlo will play music clips, and when you recognize the tune (or when our ‘celebrity teacher emcees' announce the song titles), find it on your card and mark it off!
Get four in a row - across, down or diagonally - and shout "MUSICAL BINGO!" loud and proud to win a prize!
See you there ✌️

Comella’s x CUE PTO Fundraiser
WED Nov 12 // 11.30am-9pm |
Another tasty win-win fundraiser:
You get to eat dough…while making dough for the PTO!
Pick up a pizza and ditch the dishes - or make a night of it with your friends/sports team/grandparents and eat in with a spread of subs and spaghetti!
Bring your favorite board games, some good chat…and spot other Chenery Cheetahs stopping by at the counter :)
Comella’s will donate a portion of the proceeds from every order to our PTO — Thank you, Comella’s! 🍅
Next PTO x Belmont Business fundraiser…
🍕 Fiorella’s // Thur Dec 4
Coffee with the Principal
Friday NOV 14 // 9.15-9.45am (in person)
Another chance for coffee + chats about Chenery news and developments with Dr. Laura Smith.
Come along and pour yourself a Starbucks coffee!
Support our CUE library by buying books at the December Book Fair!
Pick up a good read or two - and holiday gifts for family and friends.
Proceeds will go towards funding books and supplies for our very own CUE Library.
Keep an eye out for a call for volunteers to set up the shelving displays or help at the checkout.

It’s not too late to donate! |
Thank you SO much for all your amazing generosity so far - and to those who’ve managed to add company matching donations to boost our PTO funds. |
So far we’ve received…
...more than $8000! - which is nearly one-third of our fundraising goal.
So we’ve made a healthy start, but more donations are very welcome!
Every dollar will make a difference for funding school enrichment (like bus transportation and entry tickets for field trips), community events, and more.
So if it’s still on your to-do list, check it off now by clicking DONATE

If you have more Halloween Candy than your buckets can handle, take any surplus to Belmont Orthodontics / Belmont Pediatric Dentistry for their Candy Buy-Back Program. |
Dr. Melita will pay you $2/lb (limit $10lbs / person). AND a matching donation will be made to the PTO when you mention CUE!
Drop off your candy during the first two weeks of November:
Monday-Thursday, 8AM-5 PM (last day Thursday Nov 13)
11 Alexander Ave, Belmont
In case you missed it…You can also contribute to the CUE PTO even when you buy your normal groceries!
Yay for you newbies scanning receipts and winning free donations to the PTO - you’ve boosted our earnings to just over $40 since July :)
So if you’re chomping through cereals or you have an Annie’s mac ‘n’ cheese fan in your house, please consider downloading the app.
Here’s how: - Visit this site
- Search for CHENERY UPPER ELEMENTARY via the drop-down menu. - Then, shop for groceries as normal! - Scan your (digital or physical) receipts.

We heard there was a need for more equipment to keep the fun going at recess - so some of your PTO donations have gone toward purchasing items recommended by teachers, such as basketballs, soccer balls, hula hoops, sidewalk chalk and more :)
It's all arriving this week, so tell your Chenery Cheetahs to watch out for some new gear coming their way!

We asked - you answered…and just in time! Thank you for making the October Teacher Treats a spookily memorable one.
If you’d like to contribute to November’s ‘Thankful’ offering on Nov 17 or future months with donations of snacks, muffins, bagels, clementines, sparkling water, cookies and more, please sign up HERE.

National Walk / Bike / Roll to School Day
We dodged the rain (just!) and you showed up with smiles and stepcount to show off your green, healthy credentials - thank you, Chenery Walkers, Bikers, and Bus Riders!!
And a thank you to the PTO parent volunteers and teachers who chaperoned walking routes, made signs, handed out event swag, and donned those high viz jackets to boost the party vibes on the blacktop :)

It was great to see so many faces at Back To School Night in the Chenery corridors.
For fifth and sixth grade parents who didn’t have the auditorium session, we’re re-sharing Dr. Smith’s slides from her recent newsletter HERE, which include a useful Who’s Who of key staff, the School Improvement Plan, Parents as Partners - oh, and a section from us all about the PTO :)

Coffee with the Principal
Thanks to CUE Principal Dr. Laura Smith, Curriculum Director Dr. Liam Doherty, and the 20 or so caregivers and staff who joined our Coffee with the Principal (Virtual Version).
We had updates from CUE (upcoming parent/teacher conference schedules, time for library access, overflowing Lost & Found…); from the PTO about upcoming events; and Q&A on curriculum policies and more.
Join the next one (in person) on Fri Nov 14, 9.15-9.45am
We had another great turn out for the PTO Meeting with guest speaker BPS Superintendent Dr. Jill Geiser, who gave an update on developments and priorities for Belmont Public Schools, plus some Q&A with participants on charting student progress and more. |
If you missed it, don’t miss out! Catch up by reading the summary HERE. |
What a fantastic whirlwind world tour!
THANK YOU to all those who shared their countries and cultures on Multicultural Night on Oct 17, to those who joined us to experience the food and traditions, and especially to our PTO volunteer organizers!
The cafeteria was buzzing with fragrant food, stunning national costumes, vibrant flag colors, and even live music!

Clothing Donations for the Nurses’ Office
The Nurses are really grateful for all your clothing donations - thank you!
They’ll be so helpful for making sure students are comfortable in the Nurses’ Office.
Did you spot the new colorful plant pots at the CUE entrances on Back To School Night??
These splashes of blooming color are thanks to some Chenery students who spent time, effort and generosity planting them last month.
And as part of the town-wide service day, Belmont Serves planted tulip bulbs around the Chenery school sign - so sit tight for a colorful surprise in the Spring!

Thanks for your energy and support, CUE Community! |
