PTO After School Enrichment (ASE)

Can you spare 30 mins to volunteer?

After School Enrichment (ASE) registration closes tomorrow October 3 at midnight!

See the PTO ASE webpage for full details on activities and how to sign up. Activities start on Tuesday Oct 14.

ASE has proven very popular (yay!) - these activities still have some spaces to grab:

Trivia and Board Games (Mondays - 1 opening left!)
Drama (5th-6th grade, Thursdays)
Step Your Way to Good Health (Thursdays)
Bookworms (Fridays)
Fun With Painting (NEW on Fridays!)
Strings Bootcamp (5th-6th grade, Fridays - for those who are new to their instrument or who need extra practice)

Request for parent volunteers

We need 1-2 parents who can be at CUE from 2:15-2:45 Tue 10/14 and Thurs 10/16 to help make sure students find their way to their proper enrichment activity (or back to the office if they're not enrolled!).

EVENTS (everything from in-school enrichment and field trips, to community- and school-wide social events, like Multicultural Night, the Science Fair, Field Day...); and
SUPPLIES (classroom essentials, recess equipment, teacher appreciation treats...)

We simply can’t do all the good stuff without your help and donations!

You can also contribute to the CUE PTO even when you buy your normal groceries!

By scanning your digital or paper grocery receipts in the Box Tops app, money goes directly to the CUE PTO based on eligible products in your shopping cart, eg General Mills cereals, Annie’s products etc.

We’ve earned a grand total of….$7.20 since July via 3 loyal supporters(!)

Monthly Teacher Appreciation

We need your help to keep our CUE teachers and staff feeling appreciated and well fueled!

Each month, parent volunteers show our Teachers and Staff some appreciation by providing snacks with a rotating theme (October’s will be Halloween…what else?!).

HOW YOU CAN HELP...

Sign up to give a contribution (eg snack packs, muffins, bagels, popcorn, clementines, apples, chocolate, cookies, soda cans, sparkling water, coffee…) Homemade or shop bought - it’s all appreciated!
Drop it off (either in the Beatrice Circle/Clifton St area during the week before or direct to the Front Office on the day)
Our staff enjoy a surprise spread of treats in the staff lounge!

We really need volunteers - especially for the Oct 6 snacks in 4 days’ time!!

National Walk/Roll to School Day

WED Oct 8 // BEFORE SCHOOL

We’re excited to celebrate the National Walk & Bike to School Day with our students!

This fun, healthy event encourages kids to get active, build community spirit, and learn about safe routes to school.

Right now, we’re looking for parent volunteers to:

Lead the walking groups from the designated “bus stops” (=meeting points) to CUE.
Welcome our walkers, rollers, and riders at cheering stations at CUE.

Your support is key to making this event possible and fun for our students. More details on how kids can participate will be shared soon—but for now, we need parent volunteers to help us get everything in place.

Back To School Night

Alongside the classroom visits, we’ll share a quick update at the session in the auditorium for 4th Grade caregivers about the fun events we’re planning, and how you can get involved.

You may choose to bring special food to share; offer craft activities or a quiz to showcase your culture; or display traditional items or dress up in national costume… It’s your chance to get creative!

The line-up is looking exciting: take a tour everywhere from Bulgaria to Brazil; Nepal to Nigeria; Croatia to Korea...

And you don’t have to host a table to enjoy the fun - EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

There’s been such a Chenery buzz this new school year!

Thanks to everyone who’s contributed their time, effort and energy to all the CUE events and initiatives so far. It’s been fantastic to see so many CUE community connections forming - and there’s still so much good stuff to come…

It was so good to kick off the school year with sunshine, ice cream and community feels at the Back to School Picnic!
