CUE PTO

🧡 Hello from the CUE PTO!

The CUE PTO Newsletter - August 2025
Cheetah Chatter banner

Summer’s still in full flow, but we wanted to send a hello from the CUE PTO before the back-to-school rush begins.

This newsletter’s essentials:

  1. WELCOME (back) to all CUE Families – especially newcomers!

  2. Mark your diaries: Summer Meet-Ups for Students & Families

  3. About the PTO – join in / help out!

  4. Follow the CUE PTO on Facebook for info alerts

Upcoming Events

Meet and Make Friends Before School Starts!

  1. Summer Meet-ups: We’re planning some fun, low-key meet-ups in August to help students (and parents!) connect and ease those first-day jitters before the school year starts.

Save the dates below and spread the word!

  1. 9/2 Back To School Picnic:

This was such a hit last year, we’re repeating!

Families can bring food, buy ice creams (bring cash for The Ice Cream Bike!), or simply hang out together on the Chenery playground and fields 5-6.30pm on Tuesday 9/2 the night before school starts.

It’s a great way to meet people, share nerves and excitement(!) and get familiar with where to line up each morning.

    See you there!

What's the PTO all about?

The Parent-Teacher Organization is run by parent volunteers - its main aim is to support and connect our school community of staff and families, and help enrich students’ educational experience.

That means:

  • Organizing and funding events like In-School Enrichment (field trips), After School Enrichment (like craft clubs), grade-level Parties, Field Days, Science Fair, Multicultural Night, Staff Appreciation, Coffee Meets with The Principal, and more…

  • Supplying teachers with classroom needs (hello, tissues and recess toys!)

  • Keeping our CUE Community connected by coming together for events and sharing news updates

The PTO is not a club you sign up for with a membership - you automatically belong and benefit from all the events and support that the PTO provides to help turn our children’s school experience from good to great.

🐾 WE NEED YOU!

We can’t do all the good stuff without your help - whether that’s by contributing time, expertise or donations.

We already have a great core team of parent volunteers who are feeling the CUE buzz, but there are some open roles.

Whether you can spare 5 hours or 5 minutes; have tons or zero experience; can come into school or help from home….you can make a difference!  It’s also a great way to get to know other parents and what’s happening at your school.

Can you help….?

  • Co-President - you’d team up with Cortney to plan out events, what CUE needs, and generally keep the PTO show on the road

  • Room Parents - you’d help connect the families in your class and support your teacher(s) with any events or class needs. If this sounds like your thing, please fill in this Room Parent Volunteer Form (once you know your child's teacher/team and before Aug 31)

  • Just want to do 'something' or help out ad hoc and be on our Volunteers Contact List? Tell us! ...and keep an eye out for our full volunteer interest form, coming soon :)

Say hello here: cheneryPTO@gmail.com

Expressing interest does NOT mean you’re tied into any commitment.

There will be volunteer opportunities coming up throughout the year (like helping at Field Day or ordering supplies via Amazon) where we’ll shout out and we’d love the one-off help! And there are often past volunteers willing to share their know-how and help you copy and paste the plans that work :)

If you don’t have spare time, but can contribute a donation of any size to help fund all the PTO provided activities, watch out for our ANNUAL FUNDRAISER in the fall.

That's all for now!

We’ll be in touch with more info as the year gets going, so watch out for these monthly Cheetah Chatter newsletters - and a handy calendar of the year's events to look forward to :)

Enjoy the rest of your summer and see you soon!
