FBE Highlights 2023-24!

fbe

As we prepare for the close of another year and our students, teachers, and administrators leave our school buildings, we wanted to take a minute to share some of the highlights from the FBE’s activities and impact during the 2023-2024 school year.

None of the work that the FBE does in support of Belmont Public Schools would be possible without the generous support of our volunteers, donors, investors, and the Belmont community. THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the FBE this past year.

FBE ANNOUNCES $100,000.00 LIBRARY REVITALIZATION GRANT!
The school district reconfiguration is nearing completion with the opening of Belmont Middle School (BMS) in Fall 2023 and the new grade configuration at Chenery Upper Elementary (CUE) in Fall 2024. After discussions with district leadership, the FBE is thrilled to announce a one-time large grant award to ensure that the BMS and CUE school libraries meet the needs of their students.

2023-2024 GRANTS AWARDED
Thanks to successful fundraising and generous support from donors, this year, the FBE was able to fund 22 GRANTS, representing MORE THAN $250,000.00 in support of Belmont Public School teachers and students. The grant funding was used to support a range of activities and needs such as the 7th grade enrichment field trip to the MIT Museum, Latin American Dance lesson, Museum of Science, YES Engineering Curriculum and Materials Kits, keyboarding skills for third graders, and the Studying Skillful Teaching (SST) course for BPS Pre-K - 12 educators.

“Thank you so very much to everyone involved at the FBE for funding our grant proposal. We are grateful to have the necessary materials needed to support our most vulnerable middle school students. This is truly appreciated. Thank you for all the work you do to support the teachers and students in Belmont.” - BMS teacher
