Wellington Family Newsletter

Dear Wellington Families,

It was a pleasure to see so many of you at Curriculum Night last week. We hope that you had a chance to see your child's classroom and learn about our curricula. I loved seeing familiar faces and meeting new families; I also enjoyed gathering as a community in the gym. If you missed the presentation or were not able to see or hear what was shared, here are the slides that I presented. Additionally, here is the presentation that was shared by our Art, Music, and PE teachers that evening.

We are committed to our continuous growth and would love to know what you enjoyed about the event and if there is anything we can change to improve it. Please fill out this survey with your thoughts and feedback.

We wish you a wonderful week ahead. If your family celebrates Rosh Hashanah (or any fall holiday), we send our warmest regards for a Happy New Year.

Warmly,

Heidi and Molly

Congratulations Wellington!

It is my true pleasure to let you know that the Wellington School is one of a small number of schools in the state that has been identified as a School of Recognition. There are more than 1750 public schools in Massachusetts, and last year only about 50 schools were given this honor.

Schools of Recognition are selected for the following reasons:

  •  Students exhibit high academic achievement and growth

  •  Subgroups of students with high needs demonstrate a higher level of growth than the state’s accountability goals

  • Students demonstrate improved attendance over time

  • English Learners meet proficiency standards at a rate that is higher than the state recommendations.

This honor was the result of our strong and dedicated community. I am grateful to our talented and hard-working teachers for their commitment to all of our learners . I am thankful for our families' unwavering support and meaningful collaboration. Most importantly, I am humbled by our incredible students. They give their best each day and teach us more than we could possible teach them.

Congratulations to the Wellington Community!
