Welcome!

Welcome to all our new families, and welcome back to our familiar faces. We’re excited for another great year at Winn Brook! We’d like to share a little bit about the PTA and how you can get involved.

What does the PTA do?

The Parent Teacher Association is a volunteer run organization of guardians and staff working together to enrich our students’ experiences at school. If you are a guardian or staff at the Winn Brook school you are already part of the PTA! Joining is really that easy.

Throughout the year we help support field trips, in school enrichment opportunities, community social events, capital improvement projects, staff allowances, school photos, and a book fair, among other activities. Please see the volunteer interest form (more information below) for more about how to get involved.

How does the PTA communicate with the Winn Brook community?

This newsletter, the Weekly Winnie, is our main method of communication. (Okay, it’s actually the Biweekly Winnie - but that doesn’t have the same ring to it!) Inside the newsletter you will find general PTA announcements, updates and summaries of PTA initiatives and events, a calendar of Winn Brook and Belmont events, and Winn Brook reminders. If you have a community event you’d like to share in the newsletter, please email us at presidents@winnbrookpta.org

In addition to the Weekly Winnie, Room Parents help distribute information to each classroom on behalf of the PTA. We also share event reminders on poster boards on the blacktop, leading up to each event.

How can you get in touch with the PTA?

We would love to hear from you with any questions, comments, brainstorms, etc! The 2024-2025 Executive Committee is:

Volunteer With Us

We need you

Volunteers like you are essential to everything the PTA does, and it's fantastic to know your time and effort directly support our students and staff, making their Winn Brook experience better.

Please open up and scroll through our Volunteer Interest Form - there are many exciting committees and events proposed for the school year. There are opportunities to contribute for every kind of availability (long-term, short-term, in-school, home-based, daytime, evenings, etc.). Click anything and everything that interests you then Submit the form. Expressing interest does not mean an outright commitment. We will contact you nearer the event/initiative date to gauge your interest and availability, again!

Welcome Kindergartners!

We are very excited to welcome the next class into the Winn Brook community. We enjoyed meeting many families at our Kindergarten Popsicle Play Dates over the summer and look forward to getting to know you all better over the next few years. Thank you to Robbie Shade, Kai Shade, and Jessie Huang for organizing such wonderful events.

New Winn Brook T-shirts

All students will be gifted a new Winn Brook T-shirt as part of our transition to a K-3 school. T-shirts are also available for purchase, along with all our Winn Brook Swag. A big thank you to Winn Brook parent Georgina Lamont for the thoughtful design.

Note: Younger students will receive shirts with room to grow, so they can enjoy their shirt throughout their time at Winn Brook. Other sizes, youth and adult, are available for purchase.
