PTA Community Meeting - 4/4, 9am (virtual) - TODAY

Our PTA Community Meeting is TODAY, Friday April 4, at 9am.

We will review the structure of the PTA, volunteering opportunities of varying commitments, and positions we are hoping to fill for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a great opportunity to learn a bit more about what the PTA is and how we support the students, the school, and the community! If you’ve wanted to get involved but have been unsure how it might fit in your schedule, we’d love to brainstorm with you.

Join virtually here:

Box Tops Fundraiser

The Box Tops For Education program is a General Mills giveback program designed to earn cash for schools.
Those of you who grew up in the US may remember collecting the top of your cereal and snack boxes to bring to class to turn in for cash back to your school. Technology has caught up and now you can simply
download an app, set up an account, scan your grocery receipt (digital or paper), and have all eligible items automatically accounted for! This is an easy way to give back to Winn Brook utilizing only your everyday grocery habits. In fact, a parent of a Winn Brook teacher has contributed hundreds of dollars annually through Box Tops!
All funds generated through the Box Tops program will return directly to Winn Brook students through PTA funded activities. You could help fund a field trip just by buying your favorite breakfast cereal!
This program and app are managed fully by Box Tops. Their privacy policy can be found
here.

1st Grade Enrichment - Discovery Museum: Light and Lasers

Thank you to First Grade Enrichment Coordinator Sarah Kurz for bringing this interactive activity to our 1st graders! Students played with lights, lasers, prisms, lenses, and other materials to discover the properties of light, reflection, and refraction.

All school Enrichment - The Opening Doors Project

This wonderful musical DEI enrichment opportunity was funded by an FBE grant. Thank you to Ms. Fink, Ms. Sinclair, Ed Barker, Sarah Kurz, and Maria Olagunju for working together to bring Alastair Moock and Reggie Harris of The Opening Doors Project to Winn Brook this year. Our students "explore[d] what it means to live in one’s skin, how to talk more productively about race, and how our country’s past informs the present" through Race & Song: A Musical Conversation.
