Next Thursday, May 8 is rising Kindergarten Intake Day!
We are in need of a few volunteers to assist with check-in, name tags, promoting the PTA and supporting kindergarten staff on this exciting day. Members of the PTA Executive Committee will also be present. Please sign up here.
As a reminder - current kindergarten students will not have school May 8 and May 9 due to the intake process.

Next week, May 5-9, is Teacher Appreciation Week and PTA volunteers have a wonderful week planned to show our teachers and staff at Winn Brook how much we appreciate them.  The schedule for the week is outlined below.   Specifically, you can help by: 1) Taking Time Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning to draw a chalk picture or note on the blacktop expressing your appreciation (chalk will be provided),  and 2)  purchasing something for a classroom off the teacher and staff wish lists (to be send later this week by room parents).  If you would like to help with any of the other activities listed below, or have any questions, please contact Elisa Perry (elisa.perry@gmail.com) or Danielle Harrell (Danielle.harrell@gmail.com)

Friday: Student thank yous and cookies in lunchroom & a small gift for teachers

On Thursday, May 8, Comella's-Belmont will generously donate a portion of each order to the Winn Brook PTA to support our traditions for the 3rd grade class. Orders can be placed online via Comella's website (navigate to the "Fundraiser" section of the online menu and add "Winn Brook PTA" to your cart) or by phone/in person (mention "Winn Brook PTA" when you order). Note: Any order placed through 3rd party delivery apps is excluded. Thank you in advance to the entire Winn Brook community for your support of this fundraiser! All Winn Brook families are welcome to order, and encouraged to tell your friends around town!

We are excited to celebrate the rich diversity of Winn Brook students at this year’s Multicultural Night on May 16, 6:30-8:30 pm!
You can share your personal heritage or showcase a culture or country you've visited and loved!
Ways to get involved:

• Host a cultural tabletop with artifacts from a country or an activity kids will enjoy

• Bring some FOOD to share

• Put on a cultural PERFORMANCE (e.g., sing, dance, fashion show, story-telling, etc.)

• Volunteer to help run the event (set up decorations, help with performances, monitor tables, clean-up, etc.)

The Multicultural Night Committee

The Winn Brook PTA is delighted to share that the author of the popular Who Would Win? series, Jerry Pallotta, will visit Winn Brook on June 12th for an enrichment event during the school day.

As part of this event, the author is providing each of you with the opportunity to order his books at a discount and to have them personalized for your child.

If this is something you are interested in, please complete an order form and send it back to your child’s classroom with a check made out to CB Books by Friday, May 16th. Jerry Pallotta will then bring the signed books to the event in June. Purchases are OPTIONAL and do not affect participation in the event.

An order form will be sent home with every student. In the event that the form gets lost (or never makes it home...), you can download a fresh copy here.

Thank you to kindergarten enrichment coordinators Lauren Flynn and Andrew Laubscher for bringing this delightful Mass Audubon program to our classrooms! Kindergarten classes explored the mysteries of nature as nature detectives!  They used their senses and observation skills to observe wildlife in sample habitats.  They explored pond life with a live turtle and discussed birds of prey with a visit from a red tail hawk.  The students enjoyed watching the animals move freely in their habitats and learned a great deal about how they adapt to their environments and surroundings.  The students asked a lot of questions and fun was had by all!

We had beautiful weather for our annual moving on class photo, showing off the new Winn Brook T-shirts! Thank you to Hayward Photography, 3rd grade staff, and administrative staff for organizing a smooth photo shoot!

We hope you had an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful BPS concerts throughout April. There are many more upcoming visual and performing arts events to look forward to throughout May!
