We had a phenomenal turnout for our first PTA event of the year! Thank you for joining us despite the gloomy forecast; it was amazing to see so many Burbank students and families celebrating the start of the school year together.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who organized the Fall Social, helped with setup, cleanup, and running stations. We truly could not do these events without our amazing volunteers!
An especially big Thank You to our Dunk Tank Volunteers for bravely stepping up despite the chilly temps! Jen Karigianis, Patrick Mongeau, Ms. Lisa Williams, DJ Paul Wyon, Matt Taylor, and Dave Thu - THANK YOU!
Finally, a huge Thank You to Belmont Pediatric Dentistry and Belmont Orthodontics for generously sponsoring this event!
We know schedules are busy for everyone, and weeknights can be especially hectic. We're trying something new this year and having our first PTA Community Meeting in the morning right after dropoff and including - you guessed it - Starbucks Coffee! Please join us on Friday, October 11th at 8:45am in the MODs Classroom #1. Added Bonus - Our Amazing Principal, Ms. Lisa Williams, is joining and will be available at the conclusion of our quick meeting to chat!
Come learn more about why it's important to donate time and/or money to the PTA to support our teachers and staff when town funding can only go so far. Check out our budget (it's public and open for anyone to review!) to see how donations will be used throughout the year.
Get updates on upcoming community events and weigh in on new ideas or give feedback on how the PTA can do its best to support and build our community - your opinions matter!
Find out how you can get involved - there are many levels of time commitments for your busy schedule. Your unique skill sets are valuable and appreciated!
All Burbank Parents/Guardians (Yes, grandparents, too!) are welcome to join our Community Meetings!
We hope to see you!
Our next big and beloved event is Burbank Lights the Way, coming Friday, October 18th from 5-8PM at the Playground. We will have sugar pumpkin decorating, luminary bags to design, temporary tattoos, glow sticks, popcorn, and a family-friendly movie. Bring a picnic blanket and get ready to have a fantastic time with friends!
As always, these events don't run themselves, and we need your help to make the night special for the kids. Please consider signing up here. Thank you so much!
Buy your $1 tickets in advance for all food purchases & activities. Pricing is listed on the website. Tickets will be available to purchase at the event for CASH only. Email maryleeburbankpta@gmail.com for any questions! Rain date: 10/25
Our Fall Session Extracurricular Classes are open for registration now! Classes have already started filling up. See our previous email for more information. Registration closes Monday, October 7th at 8PM. Sessions begin the week of October 21st and run for 8 weeks.
School Photos by Hayward Photography are scheduled for Thursday, October 10th. Photos are generally taken outdoors if the weather is decent; otherwise, they will be held in the Library. Please mark the date on your calendars and be on the lookout for an email in the coming week with pre-ordering information! Bonus to pre-ordering photos - a portion of these pre-ordered sales will be given back to Burbank to help fund all our planned school programs.
Interested in volunteering at the library? Sign up to help out during your child's class library time, including checking out books, shelving, and often reading to the class! This is a great opportunity to see what goes on in our wonderful school during your child's day. See our previous Library Email for all the details!
Pick a week to Sign-up to show appreciation for our teachers by bringing snacks for the Burbank Staff Meetings! Each volunteer should buy enough snacks for 20 (we'll have two volunteers per meeting so we can cover the entire staff). Example snacks include fresh fruit, pretzels, trail mix, popcorn, granola bars, cookies, etc. Snacks can be dropped off in the front office on the morning of the meeting. Thanks for showing our teachers some love!
